After you have successfully registered and verified your blog, you can move directly to posting with the default template, or you can choose from one of the pre-loaded templates.
Your email will give you directions for logging in to your blog, so I am not going to cover that here. Once logged in, you will be presented with a “dash board” that looks like this.
Notice the arrows pointing to write, comments, and presentation. These are the areas I am going to be covering briefly. If you are satisfied with the default theme for the blog, then you are set up and ready to write. Click on the link Write (arrow 1) and you will see this screen.
This is a visual editor for posting blog entries. Enter a title, and your posting. You can choose from saving, saving and continuing to edit, and just plain old publish. Saving will save a draft of your post for you to edit later before you take it live or “publish” it. Save and continue to edit will save your work and allow you to continue to write. Saving and continue to edit is a good idea for long postings so you dont accidentally loose your work.
If you are not pleased with the default template, choosing a new template is simple. In one of the previous pictures, we had some green arrows. Arrow #3 shows a link to Presentation. This is where you can choose a new pre-loaded template. You will see a screen like this.
We have a few loaded now, and will continue to try to add more as time allows. All you have to do is scroll through the list and click on one that you like. The blog software will automatically apply the new style to your blog. Its really very simple.
The last thing i want to cover is moderating comments folks might make on your blog. You are responsible for the content on your blog and you will be responsible for making postings and keeping the spam off of your blog yourself. as long as you are hosting a blog on my server, if your blog gets out of hand, I reserve the right to delete it. You can moderate comments by clicking on the tab marked by arrow #2. Everything on that page is pretty self explanatory.
