I was having some issues that had to be worked out. But I am back in the saddle again. As I type this i am at a truck stop off exit 240 on I-55 in Illinois. Waiting for 1300 p/u in Elwood, IL and delivery it to Memphis, TN.  I delivered a load that i picked up in Hunt Valley, MD and delivered to our terminal in Gary, IN. Then i picked up a small local load that went to Romeoville, IL. I was fine with that that gave me a small little run plus and empty  trailer ( trailers can be a B$%$# to find in the Chicago Area) it was a drop and hook . Plus i had to wait until 1300 to pick up the load i have on me right now. I will pick this up go to our yard in Manteno, IL fuel up and call it a day. Ill make it to Memphis, TN tomorrow.

Today was not bad at all tho a short day, but that’s fine with me. Took my dogs out for a nice long walk and enjoyed the summer day. I made a delivery at West Chester, OH picked up the load in Amarillo, TX. I Was the 1st one at the consignee. Was a tight dock to get in to plus you had to blind side back, and they had palettes and crap on ether side. Took me a few tries but got it in there with out much trouble. It took them 20min to unload me all I had was 6 rolls of copper wire. Which was good my next load picked up 6 miles away. As I was leaving the dock and parked on the street doing my paper work and Qualcomm. A driver with Trinity but hauling a PTL trailer was pulling in there saw that he was having a little trouble. So I went over there and ask if he wanted me to watch his blind side. The Gentleman ( I use that loosely) said ” I have been driving 17 years I don’t need no help from a F*&king Swift driver” so i left as I was walking back to my truck I hear a crash and on his blind side he knocked over the pallets that was staked so nicely, and some of the pallets hit a parked car. He looked at me I just smiled and waved. Then left to pick up my next load. I am in Buckley, WV at the Tamarac. Going to Elkton, VA at the Coors plant. After this load ill have 2800 for the week and still have one more day to get hopefully a short run on this weeks pay.

Hi all there has been a lot of discussion about Swift Transportation. Some say it’s the worst of the worst, and some like it.

What I will do is just share my adventure with Swift the Good, bad and ugly.

Then you can make up your mind if its the devil it is made out to be, or just another trucking company.
