You're just going to have to wait until after the surgery...

Surgery now over and done with and actually survived although, I thought I heard the surgeon say "Oh Shit!" once.
Plus, if I can find the bloody pen I was using, I can get the SNOW WARS Saga off and typing but the anesthesia is still floating around in my veins so until the next time....

An April 1st trick that could get a person fired if their dispatcher is Anal Retentive and suffers from Irritable Bowel Syndrome.

I called my dispatch person to play a bit of a joke.
When he answered I spoke to him in the best Middle Eastern accent I could come with.

I asked him... "Where's my gas??? "I need my gas!!!" making it sound with such urgency.
The dispatcher asked what store it was. I made up a number and could hear him frantically typing on the keyboard.

"Please hurry with my gas!!!" I continued "The customers are rioting in the parking lot"
"They're rioting?!??!" The dispatcher asked
"Yes!!!" "Oh no they just turned my car over now they are going to set it on fire!!!"

The dispatcher for an unknown reason asked what kind of car it was.
"It's a Mini-Cooper!!!" I told him.

It was difficult trying to keep from laughing and the two other drivers with me were wetting their pants in hysterics...
Finally the dispatcher realized that the store number was not on the customer list and made mention of same.

I apologized and told him I thought I was calling another gas hauler. The dispatcher hung up and let out a loud sigh.
The poor guy had not realized I was in the drivers room when the call was made.

Oh, he did find out a few days later and made life Hell for me for about a month!!!!

More Chemical Brothers fun:

During a trip to NJ we ended up laying over for a day or two so, we went to Mom's house. We went with Mom to the grocery store which, was not a wise thing to do, as the older brother discovered.

As the brother and I wandered down an aisle I let out a deep albeit loud burp as a "prim and proper" lady walked by the aisles end I quickly turned to look at something on the shelf as the lady gave the older brother an evil and repulsed stare. I did do my best to keep from laughing.

The brother did tell Mom what I had done and she in turn smacked me on the hand telling me I shouldn't do such nasty things.
Of course I told Mom "But Ma!!!! What are little brothers for???"

Yet another layover in Lebanon, Tennessee, as the reader may discover we did do a lot of LAYING-OVER!!!!
I had just finished taking a shower when the older brother yelled that the housekeeping lady was collecting the dirty towels and things so, I opened the bathroom door and tossed the towel to him to give to the housekeeping lady person. The towel hit my brother in the head and bounced into the laundry cart.
I took it all in stride I looked at my brother and said. "Damn, I'm good"

Needless to say he was a bit pissed and yes he did call Mom on me again.
It is a NO WONDER that we actually survived almost 5 years as a team!!

Yeah you finally broke 100,000 without the snowstorm from hell. When you got stuck trying to climb the hill on I-80 going to Tannersville Pa!

Oh please!!!! Like you didn't have a problem with the winter of 79/80.

Just picture a Roadway line-haul unit, U-700 Mack, pulling a 45 ft trailer up the big hill on I-80 and not quite reaching the crest of that said hill!
For the uninitiated Roadway's line haul units were single drive axle with a tag!!! Not very conducive for "mountain climbing!!!!"

More will follow as soon as the satellites quit tracking me.....

LET IT SNOW!!!

Just when you thought it was safe here comes another CHEMICAL BROTHERS mystery!

On one run to Deepwater NJ, one cold wintry night, I had the privilege of driving first pulling out of Old Hickory. "Another fun ride with DMT!" I told a fellow amateur radio operator as I wheeled the Freightliner FLD-120 eastbound on I-40.

The ride to Knoxville was a tad boring as per usual but as I made the swing onto I-81 the "fun" was about to begin. The one thing that caught my attention, was the amount of snow on the ground. Nashville had none.
As I proceeded north on 81 I noticed the flurries where getting heavier and the road a bit slicker. I kept hearing southbound drivers saying that the northbound side would run out of it soon. After about an hour or so of keeping the truck from sliding off the snow covered interstate I picked up the CB mic and said "Bull shit!!"
The storm was moving up the mountain range and we were in the middle of it.

One saving grace was that the Roanoke scale was closed. It was mighty decent of the Virginia scale cops to be so thoughtful!

I finally struggled into the truck-stop at Toms Book Va pretty well worn out from the ordeal. I woke my brother up telling him it was his turn to drive. He looked out the windshield and had the nerve to ask "Oh, did it snow??"
At that point I wanted to drop kick him so bad but was to tired to jump so, I threw a snowball at him.

The bad side to this: On his tour of duty the snow had stopped and the ride to Deepwater was just fine as was the ride back to Toms Brook..

Yet another fun adventure!!!
