Partly it's cause he is black. If you was in my shoes as a black man you'd be proud too if you had the chance to vote for a black president for the first time. But the big reason I'm voting for him I just want a new fresh face in office, I thought we was trying to get away from "career politicians"? How do you know he'll raise taxes and all that stuff that you said? The right wing conservatives feeding the BS too just like the left wing liberals do. We really don't know who is the right choice for the job but I will say this whoever the next President maybe they got their hands full thats for sure.

Was responding to this statement, not throwing the race card at all.

The question is a valid one.

Absolutely not, skin color means nothing. I'd vote for Powell, Rice, or Thomas in a heartbeat.

Choosing Biden as a running mate proves that he has no interest at all in 'change'.

O.K. LL here is a question not about politics just to help you out. Peanut butter CRUNCHY or CREAMY? And what flavor jam?

Ok GUYS...HOLD ON...hold on

I don't normally wade into political discussions...for one mine are my own business & I've learned the hard way...there are 2 things one doesn't discuss...politics & religion...unless you want to start a fight!

Larry..word to the wise... you are young, you've got the whole world ahead of you. Unfortuneately you have been raised to think that the gov't can "fix" anything. But, old timers like me & many others on here KNOW it just doesn't work that way unless taxes get raised through the roof...how do you think all the new spending programs are going to be paid for? The money has to come from somewhere.

Let me give you a small example... I live in Alberta, we have had a conservative gov't in this province since before I was old enough to vote..that was back in the 70's  Anyway, we are the ONLY province in Canada that is debt free, we have no provincial sales tax & our provincial income tax is almost non-exhistant. Sure there are some things that could be changed, but on the whole we believe in doing things for ourselves & the more the "liberals" whine about the lack of social programs the less seats they win in each upcoming election. Generally, we can't stand government, they are a necessary evil & the less they poke in our lives the better.

So think REALLY REALLY hard about where your country will go if you have your taxes doubled.

I can tell you some pure horror stories about medicare & all that but it's not worth getting into here. Suffice to say it's a poor system, & if anyone up here wants really good health care & can afford to pay for it, want to take a wild guess where they go? Yup, you got it...down south, to the US!

And, since a) I am not black & b) I "think" , at least the ones I know tell me, we don't have near the black/white issues you have down there I simply can't comment on the color issues. I was raised pretty "color-blind" & I truly don't care what color a person is...cause to me color is just that, it has no bearing on what is "inside". Black, white, green or orange...who cares?

Sorry to hijack your thread & to ramble on...just my 2 bits worth!
