Then why punish yourself for 2 years getting paid CPM? Was it a chain or a rope which tied you to the steering wheel? Did your hero CFM stay that long at his OTR job before abandoning the truck?
Good thing for you somebody made the effort for you to get a new job, since you didn't seem to want to make the effort for yourself.
By the way, was your freind who told you about your new job paid a referral bonus ? If not ,it means that he did work for which he was not compensated .

When I first started trucking I was unaware about how bad the Cpm scam was.
I started to apply for hourly jobs but when i get an interviews i would be on the road.
This new job is great, but you Island would not like it, so stay with your volunteer work, the trucking CEO's are counting on you.

What scam? What part of "we pay you per mile" is a scam? What is so difficult in that to understand? How many miles do you drive when you are sleeping, watching your tv shows on your slingbox or fueling the truck? Do you know what a scam is? It implies some form of deception. Did your OTR employer tell you you would have been paid for doing those things & then did not pay you? That would have been dishonest, a scam. But I'll bet that wasn't the case.

When I started OTR I immediately understood the concept of "pay per mile" . I knew it meant just that. I would be paid for the miles I drive. I also was aware there were certain activities I would be paid for at a pre-determined rate such as loading & unloading, activities which I rarely do, but am paid for when I do. And I also on 1 or 2 occasions ,have jumped in the back of my trailer to assist,& have been told politely that if I want I can stay in my truck, which was their way of diplomatically telling me I would only be getting in their way. And I didn't expect to get paid for that. I was volunteering .That's my prerogative.

Back to your "CPM scam". How bad is this "scam "? Is it slightly bad, or very bad? If you are saying that some carriers pay too little CPM then I will agree with that, but that is no scam. A lot of carriers have on their web sites & in magazines how much they pay per mile ,so if you go take a job where you have a problem with how much you will be paid ,when you know from before hand what you will be paid, where is the scam?

I'm glad your job is great, but you think on a higher level than I, so you would not know what I like. My job is not volunteer. I get paid 41 cents per mile & I average average around 2700 miles per week for the 5 or 6 weeks I am out. And that 5 to 6 weeks I stay out? That is by choice. My choice, not your, or CFM's or any of your other OTR haters freinds' or even my company's choice. MY CHOICE, but somehow I don't expect you to either grasp,or appreciate that concept.

I, as well as the trucking CEO's am counting on my staying with my job. Where I am from ,local hourly jobs which would give me a similar paycheck as OTR are not easy to get & I don't have friends with connections like you do.Also some hourly paid local jobs involve warehouse work which I would rather not do ,not because I think there is something wrong with it, but because I prefer to be actually driving, something which I enjoy doing . So , OTR, which does not pay me for sleeping ,or fuelling or for filling out my log book or eating or using the rest room ,things which you think you should be getting paid for, is more rewarding for me than the average hourly paid job where I'm from , but I don't expect you to understand that.

I get paid by the mile & I don't consider it giving my money away .

And when you come again to put down OTR you don't need to throw in the old "I don't hate OTR or OTR drivers" line. Your previous posts show your true feelings

evinrude....the next cfm..bj. we all know you got a local job. we all know how much YOU like it. good for you, we are all very happy that you are very happy. now would you please quit with the all otr companies suck, fuel for free, bullshit. it gets old real fast. just be happy for yourself, and maybe try to actually help out new drivers.

as far as double l goes, you do need to settle down a little bit. you do not know everything about trucking, you might now a little.

as for taking an hour to fuel...only if you fuel, go play video games, go take a shower, and stand in line at wendy's, and sit in your truck and eat it. it does not take that long to fuel..unless you are exageratiing the times to trying to make a point. lets let the memmories of bj rest in peice and mave on with things.

how come no one started a thread about me when i got banned?? i feel so little now.
