Welcome, Lynnd! That's the old conundrum, how to get experience if you don't have experience. Try the Employment Resources forums here (Employment Resources Forums) and the application form on the site's main page (Truck Driving Jobs, Trucking Jobs for Truckers - Class A Drivers) - those might help you get started

Welcome, Chad and dieselrebuildkits!

Chad, the Truck Maintenance forum might yield more mileage for your question:
Truck Maintenance - Page 1

dieselrebuildkits, you can change your profile picture under Settings > My Settings > Edit Profile Picture . Hope that helps!

Hi, my name is Darren. I have been driving for 10 years. I am 31, have 2 girls, married, and 4 fur babies as my wife would say. Love driving flatbeds and have worked for several good companies. Just can't figure out why anyone would haul a box behind them. But then again I live in Kansas and have never seen a flatbed blown over on its side because of the wind.

Hence your username "lucky." LOL! Why pull a box? Because we don't have to climb on top of it to TARP it! Gotta admit you have a good point there about flats and wind resistance. Kansas can get just a little "breezy" at times!

What brought you to our forum? What would make you want to stay?

[I'm not a mod or admin.... just, thought I'd beat Clee to the welcome!]

Hello everyone, my name's Michelle and I'm 23 years old. My uncle has been trucking all his life. (he started with JB Hunt and has driven for Schneider and is now with Penske, I don't know the others he's driven for) My father was a trucker all his life as well. (He drove for P.A.M. and I don't know the others since he passed away in April and we weren't real close) My family ranges from factory workers to building designers for GM so blue collar work runs in the family. I'll be starting at a CRST CDL school next week and I'm hoping to be great at it! I love driving and have driven 30 hours in two days with nothing but enjoyment and even when I'm at home I make excuses to go for a drive. Any help and tips are appreciated and I hope to learn a thing or two from the people on this site. : )

Welcome, Michelle! We're glad to have you here. It never hurts to have one's work run in the family. Hopefully you can pick up some wisdom here.
