Hi everyone. My name is Henry. I am 52 years old and living in cape Coral FL. This Friday Feb 4th, I am getting on a bus to go to Waterloo IA to start drivers school for CRST. Going to be an adventure. I was in Land Surveying up until 2007, when that profession just seemed to mostly vanish. I've worked since then, but out of my field and really been stuck in a rut, with nothing I could think of as a career. I thought seriously about getting into trucking back in 2003, but then was offered a job in surveying, that I could not turn down. And it was good until the crash. We have a local driving school, that wants 6000 dollars. The nearest community college that offers CDL training is over 100 miles away. So I decided on the company school route and CRST is the one that will take people out of my area. I am thankful to get a chance to start out in something that can become a second career.

Hi. My name is Kathy, everyone calls me Kat. I'm 49, for about another two weeks and then I hit the big FIVE-ZERO!! I live in Phoenix, Az and have been driving "large cars" for over 15 yrs, either over the road or as I do now, local in state. I was born in Indiana and, of course, grew up around farm equipment and big trucks. As a little girl I used to rush home from school to get my work done so I could sit down on the floor on Thursday nights and watch "Movin On" on TV! I loved that show and dreamed of being a "gypsy" trucker like Will & Sonny and have been living that dream for most of my adult life.

Welcome Sly! I answered your other post. We all had fears and questions when we started. You came to the right place. But, if you don't return, you will miss out. Hope to see much more of you.

Howdy All,

I am Patrick from Lincoln Park, Michigan.

I am trying to get back into driving. I got my CDL-A back in 2003 and promptly screwed up and ended up out of this business for 10 years.

Anyhow, I applied with Prime Inc. and might apply with swift. I wanna get back to driving. Hopefully something will pan out.
