So....

any guesses as to how high the fines would be for a stupid wreck like that?

Do I hear $2,000? $2500? More?

$2,500 fine on sheer stupidity, at least the driver can't be fined for failure to secure load. They hit an f-ing bridge and it stayed on the trailer.

I can see the following offenses.

Oversize load sign
Flags

I would have to say load securement, due to it being off center, and not seeing any chains or binders hanging anywhere.

Probably no permit since he hit a bridge.

Plus all the other wordy offenses.

I'd say minimum $5,000 fine plus a revoked CDL (if he had one).

Well he could of had a permit and not loaded the trackhoe the right way which cuz it to be higher. I dont think this would revoke your CDL. May be hard to find a job after this.

Let me see if I get this straight. That huge equipment was loaded on a flatbed/lowrider trailer. Well from the pictures it went half way thru the bridge. but pulling something that huge, you would only be going what 5-10miles an hour? so How would it be able to go thru the bridge, unless you where going insanely fast...Yeah that's just me thinking outloud..

It went through the bridge due to not having any special speed limits. What you see is not considered "heavy" in the heavy haul world.

Take a look here, and you will see what's actually heavy, and big.

Make sure you look at all the trailer links and the pictures inside of them. That's what you call big.

P.S. No, I don't haul heavy yet. Just have a big fascination with heavy hauling.

I bet he had the "who farted" look as soon as he felt the boom pop the bridge.
