2 years clean record
I have years of good solid experience driving and a clean record for the past two years. I've just started getting my life back together. I could use some advice and help.
I'm looking to make better pay and get some benefits, but my past becomes an issue. I know there must be other drivers out there with past histories. My question is are there any employers out there that will give you a chance to prove yourself? Helpful suggestions would be appreciated.

Criminal. But not murder or anything violent towards anyone. Stupid stuff. It's all kind of stupid, I know. But it's there.
It's my past, it's not who I am today. My new girl -- knows all about me and she's what counts. But I want to be able to provide for her. I'm hoping I'm not a lost cause in this industry because I'm good at this job.

I'd need a detailed description of your past to be able to help ya.
Offense(s), punishment/time served, when they happened, and how long its been since you've been off probation. Stupid stuff can range from selling kids dope, to 3 DUI's, to anything else in the world.

Hard time. I know that some places will look at me after 5 years. But are there any places that will look at me today?
Also she's thinking that she could get her CDL and we could team up. But again it's my past that I think will get in the way and I don't want to mess this up for her. Fellows, any suggestions?

How long ago since your release? Again, without knowing the crime, its hard to tell. Some charges like drug trafficking, petty/big theft, burglary, or other "immoral aptitude" (or however they word it on apps) can have an impact on what jobs you can have ( in or out of the trucking industry). quote] B.C., I think that the term you are searching for is "Moral Turpitude". |
