After hounding my DM, i'm finally on a dedicated/regional account. I got sick of the stories of brain-dead swift drivers, fresh from school who dont know how to properly use a log book, let alone draw a straight line with a ruler. Yet every once in a while i hear of a newbie within their first month getting some cake-dedicated run making $1000 a week.

well anyway, i ran into another driver in Morris, IL. and he said he had a message come across his QC the other day asking for anybody who knows a company driver who lives in iowa who wants a dedicated run. Aparently it was short haul, but the driver would be home pretty much every night. Think my DM filters what he wants me to know and keeps me from getting something better. So i'm going to shoot off a msg to the guy asking for iowa based drivers and see what i find out.

The drivers i've run into who are on this regional account seem to run 2600-2900 mi a week. I actually had to turn down a load this morning, because they pretty much wanted me to run 800 miles in 11 hrs, and deliver the next load by midnight on the 20th......cant really do that in a 62mph truck.

i never really turn down any load. i learned really quick to use the log book to my advantage, theres no way to make any money 100 percent leagly. im really tryin to get on a dedicated run. the only reason i never went otr because i always heard about drivers sitting days for a load. no thanks on that one. now i just want to be home every nite, swift has Costco dedicated now, the only one the can offer me was one 350 each way, theres no way that was worth it
