Adding info. To d.a.c. Report
I have worked for 2 different trucking companies in the last 10 years. I recently got a copy of my d.a.c. Report and those companies were not on it!! So i went to the companies and asked about it and they said they would be happy to add the info. If they knew how. Does anyone have any ideas??

Don't have them add it! Let any prospective employer contact them directly!!
Your off the radar...stay off the radar!!:lol:

For starters DAC is strictly voluntary. Companies do not have to report to it.
If they want to see what it takes to add information to an employment file they can call 800.331.9175

they would also have to pay for the privilege
here is some basic information off their web site. as the orangebear stated, if you're not on it, don't get on it. from reading numerous stories here, once that information is submitted, whether it's true or not, it's a long time before it comes off. it can stop you from getting a job. why would you want something like that?

Some companies use DAC others don't. Some even will use DAC to get info and not report info and others will do the opposite. If a company does use DAC and the info they need is not there then they simply contact the previous employer for the information.
It is no big deal if a previous employer does not report an ex-employee's work and safety info to DAC.

I know that if a company wants to receive a report from DAC they have to pay for it. I don't know for certain if there is any fee to file a report. Last I knew, back before DAC was bought out by USIS there wasn't.

How does that "keep you off the radar"?
DAC is point and click options, not able to put written comments into it. Fax verification the previous employer can say whatever they want to about you. Phone only does not qualify.

A prospective employer has to verify the last three years of all employment(or lack of)
Driver has to list the last ten years of driving. Employer has to keep your info for 3 years after termination.(they can keep as long as they want to) Many so called bad DAC reports are actually written/faxed response from previous employer. |
