Also considering rigs again
Different cirmcumstances tho lol. Back in '93 I went thru a CRST school in Ohio, finished training then into solo for rest of the year. In all I drove for 3 yrs otr w/no mishaps but things around the house changed so I quit rigs and went to straight truck locally for 16 yrs. Now I'm thinking otr again till I retire in 12 yrs.
I haven't got my DAC yet been 6 days so far but have a spotless record since '93 which was a 70 in a 55 Ohio of course. I have a current CDL A and my medical card is brand new, I'm 55 with good health. Also, my wife passed away two years ago so I kind of need to get home at least once a week for upkeep even tho I have a 19 yr old daughter here but she just told me she's expecting in October and may be a concern. So after looking at the 100's of cdl ads from the companys lol I find not very many looking for no recent exp, so wondering what you guys have seen or heard.

I went and found a little company with 25 trucks. I was out from 97 to 12. I got hired before we sat down I think.
Go talk to the local parts guys, truck shops etc. See who's around. Even where the locals park their trailers. Be amazed how many companies are out there. |
