Are there any companies that will hire someone with a abandonment within the past year. Working local at the time just need to be in a truck otr. Gotta need for the open road and smell of diesel. Does not help when they put in a new truckstop here that i go by almost every day.

Looking for flatbed work
mcdonald's is probably you best bet.

Speaking of stupid! What kind of response is this. I asked a simple question and you go and reply with this type of nonsense. Jeez man, grow up! You are supposed to be an adult and a professional. Besides, I have a trucking career and I am proud of my record. I was just asking due to a conversation I had with another driver the other day.

Now the real question is which is worse, abandonment of just the tractor, a tractor with a empty trailer, or the combo of the two fully loaded with cargo?

And has anyone ever heard of a load being abandon while on a run?

There have been some who have abandoned a truck while on a run. That is probably the worst of all abandonments.

Lifetime @ some places, every company will look hard at an abandonment and with good reason. It must cost them a ton to recover a truck, not to mention cost of the load, theft, vandelism, storage fee, towing, loss of use, and I'm sure there's more.
