driving reefer instead of dry
Hi,just want to add my two cents. Shaffer DONT have much of the ugly grocery warehouses, I might get them once a month.I drive National for them.I NEVER had to jumpstart a reefer in the winter, but you will have of course sometimes problems with the reefers, I think it happens to me every two month. If you complain of fueling the reefer you really have to be very lazy, it dont take more then ONE minute. Dont count on 3000 miles per week,i yet have to wait for my first west coast run for this year and I am told its slow for all trucks, as excuse for my miles between 1400 and 2400.
Take care and good luck!

I have been accepted by Hunt Transportation (Crete"s), however, it seems they are lacking in trainers. So, I am considering Crete as my alternative to get my OTR career rolling. I would be interested in any info you have about starting out with Crete. I am unable to PM you due to my limited post restriction. If you will please email me. Thanks, Mark

The other thing you might try, and i'm going to do it when i get the chance, is to trace this guy's movements:
http://truckertom.podshow.com/ He drives for Schaffer and at the beginning of each podcast, he basically says where he been and where he's headed. This gives you a pretty accurate way to track his mileage at least for your/our purposes. |
