I like this One the best
How ever most of you can't use it unless you have a FCC Licence.

I use to modify radios and put a Motorola 35 watt transistor in them and dead key at 20 and swing to 30, extra freqs and stuff , yup them midland 19 channel radios were the day.......

Then came the days when every CB er wanted and had wet dreams over the Ranger RCI 2950, man i can still see their faces glowing, heheheehehe, anyway, us older gents used Galaxy dX99v and some had the Galaxy 88hml, these both put out 10 watts am/fm and 25 watts ssb and had the echo and rgr beep and the freq counter and the dual clarifiers both for receive and transmit, much better radio than that 2950 ever was.....

BUT THEN, galaxy met the dog and designed a radio just for me, Galaxy dX95T, this bad boy puts out 50 watts am/fm and 150 watts ssb straight out of the box, it as all the bells as well as all the others, it first started with a few models that were called twin turbo, they put out 20 watts which were the DX45MP and tte DX48T and DX93T, really nice 20 watt out of the box stuff but then they built the best which is my favorite.......

the DX95T

for a peak at all there radios just go here and read te specs, they also list just your simple 4 watt am only and ssb radios as well you get at te truck stops, check it out

Just buy an amp already, 2x8 davemade here and I will be heard, Roger ?

the 3 digit galaxy is just a 40 channel. I used to talk on a uniden68, added connex board, and 250 watt linear and monkey made antenna...could talk about 20 miles however did not recieve that well. Just got Galaxy 44, souped up a ton, talks and recieves very well with linear. Most of the battle is good hookup and ground on everything

I have a 25 year old Radio Shack model that I bought at a Pawn Shop many years ago. It still works, and you can spend hundreds of dollars for a new radio but it wont change the amount of useless junk that infests Ch. 19.
The only time I use mine is at a shipper/receiver or when traffic is bad, other than I leave it off especially when all you hear is alot of foul mouth nonsense and guys with their echo boxes and other juvenile toys.

The only option I'd like on a cb radio is the NOAA channel, maybe later on I'll do an upgrade.

Cobra 29LTD, not even the night watch model. I know where all the knobs are  . Connected to a Firestyk antenna. I see no reason to run linears, or boost the output, I'd say a good 90%+* run stock radio's. No sense being able to reach out 10-20 miles when the next guy may only be able to get out 5+ on an avg day. I might be lucky to get out 5+ on a good day.

*no #'s to support this.. just a guess

Ft-857 is even better. Fits nicely in the Children's Band radio slot in a Century.
