What's your location? That will help out quite a bit.

Schneider hires right out of school with no experience. McElroy supposedly hires right out of school with no experience, flatbedding. Look harder! Swift and England will take you but the pay is lower.........and you will be the butt end of every joke!

If you go to truck driver school and don't graduate with at least 2 or 3 real prospects for a driver job, then there is an issue somewhere.
1st, check with the school's job placement people. Any reputable school will have that service. 2nd, go to any truck stop along any main highway and look around. You'll soon find an area with driver recruiter magazines. These are chock full of opportunities - and they're free for the taking. While you're there, go talk to some drivers filling up their rigs. Be respectful of their time and tell them right up front that you're in CDL school and just looking for some hints for job opportunities. Don't be surprised if you don't exactly get a warm greeting. Drivers get hit up ALL THE TIME by people trying to scam for money. Just be pleasant and let them know you aren't there for anything but a little info. |
