cali cdl permit ?
Just spoke with schneider and they want me to begin training in Fontana on the 15th but I have to get my permit first; I had a real bad connection on my cell phone when I was talking to the recruiter so I just got the basic info.
What is the process of obtaining the permit do I have to make an appointment with the dmv to take the test, or do you just walk in? And what material is covered? Any info would be appreciated.

walk in should be o.k.
read this http://www.dmv.ca.gov/pubs/comlhdbk/comlhdbk.pdf sample questions http://www.dmv.ca.gov/pubs/interactive/tdrive/exam.htm you need to know airbrakes too. i didnt see any sample questions posted there. this is a fairly easy test to pass. but you must study hard. theres alot of stuff covered in the book to remeber. and only a fraction will be on the actual test. Good luck to you. sorry you have to spend one minute in Fontana. its a real $h1thole

Thanks for the help; Fontana should be interesting, I’m planning on visiting some of the local truck stops while I'm there to acclimate to my new environment.
