im4flst8 If you do go to a restaurant in a truck stop, there is one very important thing to remember.
There are some drivers that stop in to eat before they deliver, and will have to go on to the next pick up without being able to stop and eat. This can mean they have about 20 minutes to stop, use the bathroom, eat, grab a cup of coffee, and get back out to the truck. I've been to the T/A at Exit 22 on I-94 in IN. My wife and I got coffee, but 45 minutes later, the waitress still had not come back to take our order. I won't say it was entirely her fault, either. She was the only one in the whole place to take care of customers. In an effort to cut costs, they were cutting their own throats by letting customers feel ignored. Most drivers can not afford that amount of time without service. And, to be honest, I stopped in there again about a month later. The manager of the restaurant made a very huge mistake. He came by and asked me how everything was... And, I told him. I really don't think he wanted to hear the truth. Good, healthy food is important, but so is the timely service. Along with BigOrangeTx, I would think you might have a much better shot at that. Driving will pick up in the future, but right now, anyone that has a job is pretty much staying with it. Opennings are not as many as they once were.

People my age(25) suggest I stick to the metropolises of either LA or the Bay Area where everything's hip. No thanks, I'd rather go to school, then become an RN in some small, New Mexico town where I don't have to hear the consistent howl of cars with fart cannons.

I think you would have a better chance succeeding at those places being a pimp. |
