Default Casual driver positions

I have read a couple of post that reference two companies utilizing a casual driver program: Knight and KKW. KKW was described as a company well suited for someone already with a pension.

Does anyone know of any others?

Just check your local area. You would be surprised at how many smaller companies, that normally cover a local or regional area, are looking for casual drivers.

I have run across quite a few retirees that do this kind of work, and seem to be having a good time with it. They were running local around the Detroit area hauling and driving all sorts of stuff, steel, auto parts, reefers, six wheelers, little vans, pick ups and big trucks, etc...

The o/o I used to work for hauling auto parts, always had a casual waiting in the wings. He would never know when someone would not show up or mainly for when he took one of his many vacations.

Get the phone book out and make some calls. Or just drive around and see where you might like to work. I think you might be surprised at what you find.
