Default CDL School ripping me off.. HELP!

I applied at CDI in Forsyth, GA. A was told I only needed $250 to start class (total $6000). With the rest being financed. Now, after I pay $50 for a background check the whole story changes. There is no surprises on the bg check and say that they can only cover half of the tuition. Now I need $3000 to start. WTF? Any advice? I'm trying to get my money back and I'm calling theor corporate office.

Question

1. Did you get that in writing?
2. Did you ask why it couldnt be fully financed now?

You don't say the time frame this took place over, could it be the lender the school uses to finance students have tightened credit requirements? I'm guessing the "background check" was a credit check on you and your FICA score isn't good enough to satisfy the lender. Some schools have more than one lender they use, after all, all the school cares about is butts in seats and that the school gets paid by someone for providing training. BOL

Nothing was in writing yet. The money for the background check was taken out before I even went up to the school. I trusted them because its a well known school. I have good credit but maybe not good enough good point.

Given the background info you posted I can understand the change. You are a poor risk for obtaining a job and being able to pay off your loan.

What info did he give on background? Am I missing something here? Sounds to me there was nothing in writing??? Just wondering how he is a poor risk for employment???

Sounds really fishy to me. I would suck it up, and find a company willing to put you thru school, then hire you after you complete their school and put you into paid training. Would make me wonder about being asked for $$ up front, paying for my own backround check (something my recruiter did long before i attended class...no sense going to class, if you are unhire-able), etc. Better ask if you have to pay for your wellness test/DOT physicals too.

Anything you do in this business, get it in writing. period. Want me to take that illegal load on a 4 hour drive, when you know i only have 3.5? SUUUUUurrrrreeee....just send that over the QualComm so it is in writing.

Has another post "What company will hire me" and lists his background info. It might be hard to find a trucking company with that info.
