That is what I did when I went to school, but I did not stay long enough to get it paid off. One thing to note is that if you go to an independent school, and you get hired by a company that pays monthly for the schooling, and you leave before it is paid off, the carrier you go to next will probably not pick up any of the schooling.

I don't know you circumstances however you have gotten caugth up in a trap I knew I had to avoid, retiring at port. I had a wise old SMSgt tell me that it would be a grave mistake to retire at port. Why you say? For the very reasons you are talking about now. Have faith though, your ed benifits will cover this.
