Do you have a ritual you do that you would like too share??

There is no reason to be so afraid of germs. We need some of them to survive. But I agree, there are more than we need out there. I have seen people leave the restroom without washing their hands and then go straight to the buffet. I usually stay away from the buffet, as well. I don't know where some of these people were raised.

I flush toilets with my shoe if I can. Sorry if you use your hands, as I am further dirtying the handle. Remember though, how many people lay wicked duece (thats slang for "poop") and then go wash their hands and then go back to flush the handle? hah! Thought so 8)
If I can get a paper towel to use on the door handle I will, then make a Kobe shot into the trash can

I usually go park after fueling instead of pulling up. Thats my thing. I'm not out in the truck for 20 minutes, more like 2. Never caught any flack from a fuel attendant or cashier.

[quote="merrick4"]One thing I'm having trouble with and maybe someone can help, is I take a nice clean shower and back in the truck and an hour later my back is sweating against the seat.
Merrick, That's a common problem. You have to cool off before getting in the truck. Powder doesn't work too good once your wet. Put it on dry. A couple things you can do is lift you shirt and let the air cool your back OR turn on the A/C and let the air go up your sleeve and around your back OR stick a paper towel in the back of your shirt then take it out once it's moist.

I have to say though, the instant is a good idea, but coffee is one of the things I really didn't complain about paying for. I tried getting one of those beverage heater deals that run on 12v to make instant with... it was more of a pain that it was worth. I figured I was eating in my truck most of the time, I didn't mind paying a buck or two for a hot cup of coffee in the morning.

I use a "bathroom kit", a small travel bag with every goodie to help me get out of a public restroom alive and alone (no germ friends thank you)
I will admit that life has gotten a lot better since I have a larger sleeper with self contained mini apartment, but when I have to use the public facilities, out comes the "kit"

well lets see, I pull up to fuel island, get out of truck and go inside and dilly dally around, then go use restroom, go out to truck and pump fuel, one tank at a time, after tanks are fuel I then wash windows and lights, open hood and dilly dally around, then pull up and go inside and dilly dally somemore, use restroom again...then I get into truck and drive around lot 3 to 4 times lookin for that hard to back in spot nobody wants, then I park in middle of lot and wait for more trucks pulling in then I start to back up, then pull up, then back another 2 feet, then pull up, then back then up then finally I shut truck off....
I really see this routine alot, I don't do it but it seems like everyone else does...

Just to make you all even MORE paranoid about using public restrooms, I dispense paper towels BEFORE I wash my hands, then wash up, grab the paper towel, shut off the faucet with the paper towel, use the paper towel to dispense more paper towel, dry my hands, and use the paper towel to exit the restroom.
I HATE restrooms with air dryers, as they are doing nothing but blowing hot, bacteria infested air on your hands, and getting it up to a decent breeding temperature before doing so. |
