DOT vs Company DOT
Passed the DOT Exam as a condition for school. As others have stated is wasn't much.
At orientation I'm told I will again go through another DOT. Is it more thorough? Harder to pass? Guess each company is different. Just wondering what those of you that have gone before experienced. Rick

Probably 99% of trucking companies go by the federal regs with a few of them imposing somewhat tougher guidelines.
Where most of the differences comes in at, between school and employment, is in what medications some trucking companies will not allow a driver to take.

Almost every trucking job I've had required me to take a physical, even if my present one was only a few months old. Not sure why they do it, but half the time the doctor checks your pulse (yep got one) your eyes (can you see that chart? you pass) and your ears (you can hear me, right) and cuts you loose.
