Missed passing the doubles and triples test by 2 questions. all the questions i got wrong on doubles and triples were the converter dolly questions and the airvalve questions. any ways im gonna back today and reattempt it. any advice?

I nailed it today. I got 16 out of the first 16 right. So I got my corrected learners permit with my tanker and doubles/triples endorsements. I was gonna get passenger but when I said i wanted to add passenger the lady at dmv told me i would hvae to bring a bus and tractor trailer to my skills tests. So i decided not to go for it at this time.
I'll go for hazmat when I get my license. I realize i am getting endorsements millis doesnt require, but if the day ever comes to having to look for a new job in the trucking industry i want to have as many doors open as possible.

Agreed with kiakid said: go ahead and take the tests for the hazmat asap. Don't get a new learner's (unless the place you are doing your learner's makes you haul hazmat during the process ) When you take the skills test, you will automatically get the hazmat tacked on. Wish I had done this, but I was lazy and couldn't be bothered to get my birth certificate for the fingerprinting/background check, so now I'm gonna get to pay an extra $200 to get hazmat added on Oh, yeah, get your background check started asap so that it will be done before your skills test. Maryland MVA info on Hazmat Call 1-800-638-8347 to schedule your fingerprinting. Turns out the numbers on the door at the MVA (in Waldorf) do not have you calling the appointment office.

the school i went to had a passenger option. they provided a 16 passenger shuttle bus to get my passenger endorsement. no extra charge.
although i dont ever plan on driving a tour bus. its nice to have a backup plan. the company i work for requires doubles and hazmat. im glad i got both those endorsements. otherwise, it would have been one less option and a door closing on a job im glad i have. |
