395 South out of Reno to S. Cal is really nice. U.S.97 between Weed and Klamath Falls is nice too. Best views of Mt. Shasta in my opinion. 160
in Col. between Durango and Walsenburg is my favorite though.

Oh and BTW Yoopr....that stretch of highway (U.S. 2) on the southern part of the U. P. isn't all that bad either.

I live 15 miles northwest of it and yeah it sucks in the Summer with all the tourists pulling their trailers bumper to bumper and if you get a storm out of the South picking up moisture from Lake Michigan but yes it's a beautiful drive other than that :P sometimes it becomes impassable.
Same thing as M28 up north alongside Lake Superior with a storm coming out of the north-Closed more often than open :P

I'm not a driver, yet. I live just outside DC and on the way to work drive along the Potomac River past the Pentagon, Jefferson and Lincoln memorials, Washington Monument, the Capitol in the distance, State Department, Watergate, Georgetown University and a few others. It's almost too much to look at all at once. The traffic is bad but the view is good.
