there's a reason why you might need steal toe shoes---You'll have to ask them why.

what is a Tow free meal???
is that like a free ride to MacDonalds? or no charge to connect you with the meal? they don't charge you as you're leaving the building to go to lunch?

$100.00 toward any expense per week?--you better check on that/ does that mean you're only allowed $100 advance per week?

You better also check on that FREE medical insurance for YOU & your family too.

:evil:All you naysayers need to leave truckingtiger alone, he is a nice guy just trying to follow his dream. Just because your experience is a nightmare, is no reason to make him feel like s**t. Maybe he has more on the ball than you. I've followed his posts and he will make it. He is not a candy a** like some of you and is truley committed. Yeah give me the reality of trucking, it has got to be better than being shot at everyday and wondering if you will ever see your family again, I know, people told me not to join the Army, but i did, and I survived, so Whaaa, cry about being being away from home and making very little money, some, like truckingtiger have more intestinal fortitude than all of you put together. Did you ever think maybe he gas a good life and just wants to try something different? Give the guy a break, what you consider misery he may consider a walk in the park. Some of you can't do anything else so yopu wany to bring him down, if trucking is so bad go do something else.

With all due respect, (and please, remember that I said with all due respect), you can kiss my patootie. Sugar coating the reality does nobody any good, and you are not an authority on who is and is not going to make it in trucking. Nobody said he wasn't going to make it - certainly not me.

Actually, my recruiter never mentioned any of that. She was all business and never promised me anything. Im not blind to the realities of the job. Im not going in with my eyes closed. Im not stupid, nor ignorant and I know exactly what I am getting in to. I have close personal friends in this buisiness and trust what THEY tell me. They have told me the good, the bad, and the ugly. I am a grown man capable of making decisions and researching and everything. So, don't judge me or think you know what I am thinking because you dont.

Trucking Tiger

Good luck and be careful it is a dangerous time of year to start learning. Do yourself a favor and don't waste your energy defending or agruing, you will need every last drop of energy and mental focus to start this new career. Don't let anyone, or anything distract your from you goals. There are obsticals in life learn from them and move on.

Create for yourself a contact list of people in your company and their various jobs, from trainer to safety, management. When you are on the road you never know when and where these will come in handy. 24 hour numbers are also important. 1800 numbers for instant weather reports, shops I know that is a hard thing to think about but I promise you will be happy you did.

Cell phones break and get lost so a hard copy left in the truck or at home is a good back up. Have fun and Merry Christmas. Trukrswyfe.

Before everyone gets all defensive on me by my post, I just want to state that I believe our Supreme Being (Creator if you will) gave Man & Woman free will which in turn gives us the ability to think and act for ourselves and to create opportunity.
God had nothing to do with you jumping through hoops to get this far, you did it yourself Truckingtiger no one else.
God just sits by and watches, he does not help, for if he did help then I find it hard to believe he would allow millions of Innocent children to die from starvation and the other ill demons that lurk in our world...

Just my belief... Religion devides

Spirituality Unites

Merry Christmas...

Timberwolf...that was a messed up post. It really doesnt even deserve a response from me, but Ill give you one anyway. To answer your question, YES! In fact, I just left my physical and I have a hernia (umbilical) and the doctor wont let me lift more than 25 pounds until it is fixed. So, being that SNI has their little test and you have to lift 60 to shoulder height, I cant drive or even go to school for them until it is fixed.

Am I disappointed? Dadgum straight I am. Am I angry? Yep. Do I give God the praise and the glory? 100% YES! HE knows what is best for my life and HE will lead me. Whatever happens is HIS will, NOT mine. I will still get my CDL permit today or tomorrow and I will still drive SOMEWHERE...just not SNI right now. Maybe Prime or maybe Swift, but someone will hire me. Ill get my insurance going and get this fixed. And I will praise God every day for it.

So, you keep thinking that God doesnt help us. You go right on thinking that. You do it your way and Ill do it God's way and we will see where it leads us.
