Welcome out of hell Evinrude. Sure feels nice to be treated with a touch of humanity once again, doesn't it?

Be careful, your company might be checking your air conditioning use time in that hotel room. God forbid that you have HBO.

If you start to miss your OTR career, just walk outside, piss in the parking lot, then lay a blankey over top and snooze away beside an idling trash truck. That ought to do it.

Go Local! Shun the dweller society, and rejoin your life in progress!

Yawn....its getting old again guys.....just because you like to drive around in the same circle all week long doesnt mean the rest of us want to.

Why is it so hard for you to believe that some of us like it out here and are enjoying our time away from the city??

I like it on the road also, but the money was terrible for the time in the company truck. As I wasn't compensated for many of my duties, so its time to move on, I hope over time otr drivers get more repect.

Respectfully, and I do really mean that Bumper. Just shy away from the thread if it "is old." No harm, no foul. To me, it simply indicates that you enjoy my writing style. No harm in that either. But, if it is that objectionable, avoid it! I wouldn't blame you at all. In fact, I might encourage it.

Not a problem Gary, and I will continue to enjoy my time away from Lost Angeles.

It is difficult to believe that you hope otr driver get more respect when you disrespect us every time you make a post. If you were sincere in your statement you would stop throwing all the negative that you perceive about this business in our faces. There are many of us who enjoy otr and are very well compensated for our efforts. As I previously stated, I started out driving local and graduated to otr. There really isn't much challenge in driving local. You see the same scenery day in and day out. It gets pretty boring. That is one reason why I prefer otr. I also make more money otr than I would if I drove local, contrary to what you post. Most people start out at the lower end of the pay scale until they hone their skills and gain some experience. I can't help but wonder if you would have even been able to get your local job had it not been for your otr experience. When I started out the otr guys were the ones who were envied. We didn't think about throwing our pay in their faces. In fact, most of them probably made more than most of us local drivers anyway. There are a lot of otr drivers who earn more than you local drivers. I know some who earn over $120,000/year. There are a lot of otr driver who earn over $75,000/year. Those salaries are a little higher than most will earn, but it isn't difficult to earn between $40-55,000 after a couple of years experience. I can't help but wonder if you and your cohorts are really happy. When people feel the need to put down others it is usually out of a lack of self esteem or self respect. You put others down to make yourselves feel better about your own lot in life. You must feel really badly about having to driver local. Otherwise, you would not feel that you had to put us down with every post. You put otr drivers down to lift yourselves up. You don't have to feel bad about yourself. After all, you are still driving a truck. The otr driver needs more skills than those of a local driver. I am not talking about driving the truck, but in budgeting and managing his time, etc., I know because I have been there and done that. I know that because I hired a local driver who had never been an otr driver. He barely lasted 2 weeks. That doesn't mean that we need to put you fellas down due to your lack of skills or poor work ethic. I really kind of feel sorry for you boys. You are obviously not happy with your lot in life. Keep your chin up. Things will get better.

GMAN you really crack me up.

I would love to see you in a dump truck and do the stuff i do. Some of the F*ed up job sites i have to get around and running in deep and soft mud. Which is real hard on a truck. So you have to know what you are doing or you will drop a driveshaft or bust an axle. Try staying in a paver going around a bend in the road. Try staying under a miller. But thats right we have no skills cuz running the road and bumping docks are so hard.
