The fuel comes straight up the pipeline! Not a truck!

Just because you could not cut it doesn't give you the right to put others down for enjoying what they do and earning a decent living. I would wager that you are the same people I see at the truck stops who drop their paycheck into the video machines instead of working. Perhaps you would have done better if you had not spent so much time playing video games at the truck stop. Your local job relies on the otr drivers. I would not be so quick to put them down.

Perfect answer as always GMAN.

My thought is this, if you aren't doing a job that you enjoy, and take pride in doing well, find another one.

Would you be more inclined to stay at a job that you didn't like if it payed well Reb?

How do you think the steel got to the assembly plant to BUILD your truck?
Not to mention everything else that went into it.

And the building materials to build your terminal?

And the paper your checks are printed on?

And the POV you use to GET to your job?

And the clothes you wear to work?

And the food you eat to have the health to work?

Efficient short/medium haul feeder systems Dave. No irregular-route inefficiency involved in the production of my workhorse.

And do you believe the pipeline just grew out of the ground?

No, money isn't my main motivation. I walked away from a six figure income because I didn't enjoy it anymore.

That is great how your fuel magically appears at the end of a pipeline. A pipeline that would not exist without otr drivers. An otr truck took the steel or ingots from one plant to another plant in another part of the country to fabricate the pipe for the pipeline. Another otr truck took the fabricated pipe to either a distribution center or construction site where the pipe was laid in the ground to be used to transport fuel. All the pipe, nuts, screws, washers, donuts or seals, etc., was brought by an otr driver. Even the pen or pencil you use to do your logs was brought by an otr driver. Everything which went into the construction of your truck and trailer was brought by an otr driver. So instead of putting down otr drivers for the work they do, you should thank them for your job. Without otr drivers you would not have a job.
