Git' Er' Done!!!
First of all thanks to all those that've helped me since I joined. I learned a lot and built some encouragement to look at bigger and better things!!!
So I went yesterday and took my test for the doubles/triples and tanker endorsement...... PASSED!!!! So this evening about 10pm I started studying the HAZMAT section, and here it is 6am.... and I just finished! So I'll be going tomorrow to take that test.... wish me luck! I've already got the background/finger printing underway, and with my history, theres no way I should get denied. But again, thanks to those that helped!!! I'll be one REALLY employable muthasucka when all this is done, hahahahaha!!! SHOW.... ME.... DA.... MONEY.....

WOOOO HOOOOO!!!!!!! I got there at 7:55 am and waited for the doors to open at 8!!! I took the test and didn't just pass..... I got a 80!!!! Which is the HIGHEST SCORE.... like a 100% pretty much!!!! I'm SO excited right now, hahahahaha!!!
I tried to get the endorsements added but they told me I had to wait on the threat assessment to come back.... So right now I've gotta carry that little stamped piece of paper around, lol, but its all good!!!

Congratulations on passing the hazmat test. You are only considered a possible threat if you are an American. If you are from the Middle East or South of the border, you are not considered a threat.

I hate to blow your bubble but there is no money in trucking. Otr drivers are lucky to make 8 hr for each hour spent in the truck. And next year the rates are going to get worse with the opening of the Mexican Tuckers hitting the USA.

I'm hookin up with a local LTL carrier. Right now I've been talking to Dayton Freight, which needs a local driver, 8-10 hrs. a day at $26.40 hr. Overtime after 8, full benefits, company uniforms, profit sharing, 401K, the full boat!!! If that falls through, I was thinkin about local fuel delivery.... 8) |
