Well my 1st day didn't go to smooth. I think i may have jumped out of the oven and into the fire. (or whatever that saying is).
Wasn't even behind the wheel 2 hours and hit a water box in a Lady's yard and broke the pipe that made water come out all into the street. My company had to call the water company to come out and shut the water off and they are going to have dig up the ground to re-place the pipe. My boss seemed OK about it. He said stuff happens. I am pulling a 53ft landoll with the axles all away in the back. So taking turns can be a PITA. On top of things i have to go into residential neighborhoods picking stuff up and dropping it off. What happen today i had to blindside back into a cu-de-suc street with a track-hoe on. It was a tight 2lane. The guy riding with me got out to stop traffic and to help spot me. I try to get in 3 times and on the 3rd time my front tractor tires ran up over a curb and hit the plastic water box. The water box was right next to the curb. Boy did i feel like an azzhole. We had to move the axles up on the trailer about 10feet to get in. It just was'nt going to make it with them in the back like they should be. Then i was talking to the safety guy and the other driver that was with me today. They seem crazy about safety. They fired the driver i replaced cuz he was backing up in the yard and open up the driver door to stick his head out to look. Thats was un-safe cuz he could have feel out of the truck. But he did have 1 other safety thing against him. I dunno I'm going to give it my best try. I hope i can make it work lol. So theres the update. I still have a job. Have to be there Monday at 630am. I just hope i don't fu-ck nothing else up.

All you can do is just do your best.
Like Double R said... Even if it makes you feel dumb, get out and look when you back into a spot that you are not sure about. I know, it's embarrassing, but it might make a difference. There is no law that says you can only pull up "so many times". Pull up anytime you feel goofy. Take your time. If your boss was cool with what all that happened, I would say that he has faith in you that you are a good hand. Do your best. If that doesn't satisfy them, then they can stick it in their nose.

Young Lad...when things start to frazzle your nerves....AND A NEW JOB DOES JUST THAT........stop and take deep breathes! Calm yourself down.
If things look tight....step away and look at it from a distance and at various angles. One thing about sliding axles. You can close them up to give you manuverability, then once you are backed around where you need to be, slide them back out. BUT...remeber that if you had to slide them up to get backed in...you will need to reslide them...to drive out. Not always....but most times. Take your time. Don't be trying to win races.
