Maybe things will get easier once you get in your truck by yourself, and you get the hang of it.
Most people don't think about it, but it's a big difference from a 42' or a 48' to a 53'. Especially when you run in big cities.

I think that once you get comfortable with the 53 footer you will be fine. Remember how nervous you were first time you pulled the 42 through the city?

Well, mackman i've been following this thread off and on. I do have to say, that you've got a easy trailer to pull. Way easier than the 53 ft lowboy I was pulling last year. I'll give ya some advice, slow down, take your time, to do things right. I used to be nervous as heck pulling what I do. Now I just go with the flow. You'll get used to it, I did. I'm guilty of not taking enough pics of the different trucks and trailer's I've had to use. So, don't forget like I have. Happy hauling.

Here's a few pics of the trailer I used to pull, and the load on it. And the one I've got now.

This week i got 56.5 hrs. at 20/hr That comes out to 1,295.00 gross. After 90 days when i go union my pay will go up to 23.04. I like the people i work with and my boss. They are great so far. But that truck is a PITA. I'm going to try to stick it out as long as i can. I haven't been in Philly yet.

This is by far the best paying job i had. So I'm going to do my best to make it work. But i gotta say you WORK for your money. So this week went good. Next week i will get better pics of the stuff i haul. I just took this quick pic of the truck with the 53ft landoll when i left work the other night.

Young Dude! You need to just bottle up them "Doubts" you carry around with you, and throw them the hell out the window! Hell......You have a decent job! Take your time. Relax. When in doubt, just stop. Ask the stupid question, cuz they aren't stupid if you have them! Learn what they require of you and do the work.

Jorlee thats one hell of a set-up you got there.

Anyway week 2 went smooth. I did get my 1st pay check and they have union dues coming out already. I'm going to have to talk to the payroll lady about that. I'm not in the union till 90days so i don't understand why they took 30.36 out for Union Check off and 15.25 for union dues. This week i only got 50hours in. So that 1,100 gross for the week.

The hardest move i had to make was picking up a track hoe at 12th and lemon streets in Philly. Google map it. It was FU_KED UP. Here are some pictures after i made the pick-up. I was on Columbus Blvd. in south Philly. Stop to grab a bite to eat and took a couple pics.

Those pics remineded me of, when I first hauled excavators for the company. I had a 8ft wide birmingham. That was loads of fun in the rain. First a PC120 and then a PC300, same day. Slipped the PC120 off the side, tried to hurry and not use the outriggers.

Looks good from here, have fun and work smart, not hard.

Very cool job MM. I would like doing that. Dumb question~do you drive the equipment on and off the trailer or does someone else do it?

I load and un-load the equipment myself. The only thing i couldn't load or un-load was the lifts. But i took a lift safety course so now i can. I just did that Wednesday. So now i can load and unload everything.

By lifts i mean JLG Model: 860SJ

I will get some pics of me hauling them this week.
