was in my friends POV and he was in a wreck (air bag deployed...Damn that hurt) They gave me Demerol for the pain and now I'm curious, How long does it take to get out of your system ( I was getting ready to take my DOT physical in 2 weeks and Now I'm wondering if I should reschedule? Any suggestions or Advise would be appreciated , Thanks Guys!!!

I don't know how long it stays in your system, but I suggest talking to your pharmacist and ask. It might also be a good idea to tell them when you go for your physical, just to cover yourself.

Generally, it should be out of your system 3 to 5 days from the last time you took it. In any event, take the prescription bottle with you to the physical, and don't get back behind the wheel of a truck untill you have been off of ot for about 5 days.

Do follow G-Man's advice, and check with a pharmacist

You don't need to reschedule, just bring the medical report and tell them when you take the drug test about it. They will note it and if testing finds it in your system they must call you to ask about any meds you are taking before they fail you. You will then need a Dr report stating when meds are to be used. I have a lot of problems with my knee and have taken all types of meds, only when I go to bed of coarse. I have been called by lab people asking me about it before they just fail you first.
If it is truly prescribed to you, and you are not taking it, or under the influence of it while you are on duty, you're fine. Believe me, I have been using meds for a few yrs under a Dr's care for the relief of the pain while I SLEEP! As a matter of fact, I just popped a big percoset and I'm off to bed...lol Am having surg on the 22ND of this month and maybe I wont need pain relievers as much anymore!! and will be returning to work by May!

Then take your hospital records with you. If it was injected, then it should be out of your system well before the physical.

Are you on Hydrocodone (Vicoden)??

Then 2 weeks is long enough to be out of your system for a urine test. Some places are using a hair follicle test and this can take longer to go away.
