Apparently, there is no freight in the third largest city in the country to hire me. I don't have hazmat and that rules out every company that requires/wants hazmat endorsement. I might as well get a passport, too.
All of these companies say they are hiring in my area. You spend your time filling out application after application. You call to inquire about your applications. THEN, they tell you, "Sorry, we are not hiring in your area". I even ask each company the reason and they tell me specifically it is that reason...and not my driving, work, criminal record, etc. One told me we can't hire you and wouldn't disclose that it was because my area at first...until I pressed them to tell me why. I don't see what the big deal is to tell me that! It's a big secret...shhhhhh! Give me a break! I'm just trying find a job!

I was seriously thinking about trying to find something local I could be home each day with, unfortunately for me, about that time the bottom fell out of the economy and I decided I had better stay where I am until things kind of settle out before I go elsewhere. If I find something I definitely will grab it though!
I kinda thought so. If I hear of any of the local freight guys hiring, I'll hollar at ya.

I paid the fee and did the prints yesterday. Now, I just have to wait for the letter...and take the test. The fingerprint guy told me I should get the letter in about 2.5 weeks. Thanks for the info and help!

The answers are there, But I do not know where. Optimistic and hopeful dreams, Are all I have so it seems. The future I do not know, So all I can do is take it slow. But I do know it will work out, So I wait and watch without a doubt.
