How to bring back Teamsters....

Get your facts right. HD's private fleet was taken over by UPS Freight. You can thank HD for that one.

Whatever you want to call them, I've seen daycabs of companies that I know for a fact are all union parked with the driver sleeping like a baby and they are taking a parking spot that an OTR driver could be using to get his or her federally mandated break in. Most daycab gigs I know of are for hourly pay, so they are indeed stealing from their employers.

I have seen some sleeping over the steering wheel in their day cabs, as well. I don't think that they were working by the mile. Those who drive day cabs are usually paid by the hour. It is like the union fork lift driver who finds a secluded place to sleep in the warehouse where he won't be found.

Not all are paid by the hour. Most day cab jobs around here are no longer hourly and what do you know, they are union(Teamsters).

my uncle did daycab for roadway. Of course even though he was paid by the mile, he was hooked up with a nice hotel room for the night so I still don't understand why they need to sleep in the truck when I'd push it to the end of the day so I could get to that nice hotel room. sure beats sleeping in that daycab, not to mention when I see over 1/2 the spaces at any given service plaza on the masspike taken by daycabs after I've pushed through the whole night, it makes me wanna choke them, lol.
