Default Hungry in Ohio

I've been doing this for almost a year now. I have a nice 500 mile dedicated route, home every afternoon. The only problem is food. Im running out of stuff to eat in the truck. Im sick of ham/cheese, pb&j, and canned soup.

I rarely stop at truck stops (fuel at home) and Im not big on fast food. Now healthy or not, what are some foods you guys eat that can be prepared in the truck fairly quickly as Im mostly drop and hook and I like to keep moving.

I carry a cold cooler and a little so called stove to heat my soup. There have got to be tasty things out there I dont know about. I know you vets have some secrets.

Thanks for any info

Apples are healthy and keep well. Find an orchard to buy directly from. (Insert shameless plug for my parents apple orchard :lol

Ramen noodles are good once in a while. All you need is hot water. Just be careful with the salt content.

Peeled baby carrots are good to munch on and are cheap.

Jello and pudding comes in no refrigeration needed individual serving sizes.

Pre-cook some hamburgers at home all you need to do is warm them up.

Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

Get a Crock pot and slow cook some good food and then take it with you.
Nothing like a good hot meal without having to walk into a truck stop Restaurant.

Beware the salt in Ramen. If you are going to eat it at all dump 2/3 of the flavoring before eating.

Any fruit or veggie that can be segmented or sliced into bite sized pieces works well. I slice an apple into 20-25 pieces and put them in a sandwich bag

I also enjoy cucumbers, pears, sugar snap peas, bananas.

Granola bars, pop tarts, breakfast bars all work well. Cliff bars are good and even come in a caffeinated version but are kinda spendy. Any Grocery Wal-Mart will have a decent selection.

If you or the Mrs. enjoy cooking make a big batch of homemade soup on the weekend and heat it up with your stove or crock pot.

Make sure to drink plenty of water. Its a balance between staying hydrated and not having to stop too often.
