Default I am looking to get into hauling Trash....

I am new into the business and I am a o/o looking to get into hauling trash. Is there anyone whose already in this field that can give me some advice on how to get started. I would really appreciate. By the way I am going to be running this from VA. I would appreciate anyone that might have any information for me.

You can email me at [email protected]

Thank you

I've honestly never heard of owner operators hauling trash, but you may contact IESI. They are a trash disposal company, and they may help ya out.

If you are on the eastern side of virginia, forget it. Put in your application to SPSA, thats the only way you will haul trash, dont know about the western side of the state though

You might be able to lease on with MBI or TAC, not sure if they do it or not but wouldn't hurt to ask. The are one in the same, think both owners are family. They haul out of the NOVA area down to West Point, VA, Culpeper, Va landfill and King George, VA landfill.

Might also be able to get on trash detail for running it from New York back down here. I know the King George landfill imports trash from New York, or used to.

Nasty runs though, DOT loves to see you come by.

Trash comes off of Long Island everyday, allday. Including Sunday.
It goes to Virginia, Ohio, mostly. There is plenty of it and it wont seem to go away. It just keeps coming, more and more. They will stick it in a van or on a flatbed. Loads pay around $700 for 450 miles. I think you can always count on loads always being there because garbage will never go away. You will wait on lines and run your ass off. If you want to.

Check out the rest stops on 95 South coming out of the CT, NJ, NY, PA area. Look for flatbeds with black tarps that say Municiple Waste on them. Talk to a number of these guys and you will get some first hand info.

Drew is another out of the NOVA area, their trucks look exactly like MBI's, just different name, might be the same company. I don't know of any O/O's hauling. Might want to ride up to Long Island as sidman said that's where it's coming from, find someone to talk to about it and find out what ya gotta do to get on as an O/O hauling back to VA.
