For what Its Worth you can find it at: http://www.infoporium.com/truckschools/ under
Is Trucking For ME? That should give you enough information to find what I read.

I don't own a set of law book on Canadian laws so I can't answer it by citing chapter and verse. I'll just have to see what they have to say from their e-mail.

kc0iv, I did go to that website and don't believe its a reputable site, just someone making their own info for newbies. I believe tho that if you were to slip by at the border crossing some how and stopped later, you would probably be arrested at that point. Maybe not, I don't know. But it is Canada's policy to turn convicted felons around at the border and Deni them entry.
I think that outlaw is right on the "if you slip by", and get caught in the interior of Canada. But, if you are in a truck, I think that they may just turn you around and send you home. And that would probably depend on how respectful you are to the officer on how you would be treated. Canadians are normally very polite, and expect to be treated in a like manner.

I always enjoyed my travels through Canada, like the time my truck was searched up in Blaine WA, on the Canadian side. I laughed my ass off when I asked the Canadian Customs persons what they were looking for while searching the interior of my truck. Their reply was, "If we tell you, we will have to kill you!

It was all in good fun, just a routine quota check. I still laugh about that.

If someone has done their time and kept themselves out of trouble for several years, I see no need to not give them a chance. If we continue to hold every one's past over their head, then it could encourage the individual to revert back to previous criminal behavior. Everyone has to earn a living. I prefer seeing people earn it honestly. If someone continues with their criminal behavior, then I have no patience with them. How is the job working out?
Glad to hear that there are others out there who understand the possible motivation and commitment of someone who has worked hard to make changes in their lives...

For those that accept felonies after a period of years, but not if related to drugs, just why do you think these others were out committing felonies?
Pretty much any state in this here USA reports that over 80% of crimes are due to drugs... :x If you think differently, then you're just plain silly! I too was honest in the past and my issues were too recent - I'm too old now to change my entire lifestule.
