Sweet you know how to drive a big rig!! I don't blame you for not wanting to get into trucking it's not what it used to be. I wish I could have drove back in the day when trucking was fun and everyone helped eachother out. That was truckin! There's nothing like seeing a lady out there jammin gears though they get all my respect

Well the union job pays alittle less but has alot better benefits. The job he had that offered him 2/hr more only has medical insurance. Thats it .

yea after weighing it out in my head to i would jump on the better benefits myself. it's kinda like jumping from one carrier for a dime more you gotta see what there pay package inclueds that dime more a mile may not be worth it in the long run.

What do you think trucking is??? Its dead end. There will always be work. But you can never move up to anything better. Once your a truck driver chances are you will always be a truck driver.

I disagree that trucking is a dead end. There is opportunity to move up. You can become a dispatcher (not necessarily a move up), safety manager or other types of positions in operations. You could buy your own truck and be an owner operator. You could also get your authority and start your own company. You are only limited by your resources, abilities and initiative.

Just wondering Mack, do you like driveing? No one HAS to stay a truck driver,If someone decides drivings not for them they can move on to what ever they want thats how most of us got into trucking!
