Hey warhorse. Are you aware navstar is gone? there are using virginia now. Much worse than sitting at navstar. About the only way for an Expat to get back is to know a recruiters number, then be in a job that needs filling. The trades like electricians, plumbers, hvac and power generation are in high demand. Drivers are too top heavy these days. Also, there is a big push on hirinig TCN's now. So if you are trying, don't stop. With logcap 4 starting in Sept (maybe) things may change.

No, I didn't know that, but it avoids Safwan which is a good thing.
All of the recruiter numbers changed. Email too. I'll just keep updating the app. Thanks!

Will they hire a class B CDL driver?
What is the pay rate. I remember 2-3 years ago hearing that people could make $10,000+ per month. Is the pay still that good? Who pays the airfare to fly to Iraq? Do trucks get protection from the US military, or are drivers out on their own? The poster above said no guns allowed, but do they allow bullet proof vests? Are the trucks in good condition or are they old? If a person wants to spend a year driving, is the year broken up with a couple days vacation in a safe place?

B: Last I heard it was $125k, the first 80k tax-free after 330 days. C: The employer pays the airfare to and from, and a little stipend during orientation. D: All convoys get military escorts, no exceptions. E: You will be provided PPE including Kevlar vest and helmet. Failure to wear them is a free ride home. F: The trucks were new in 2004, Volvo and Mercedes cab-overs, 400+ hp 8 speed. G: I can't say about today, but back then it was two weeks vacation after every four months, with airfare up to $870 reimbursed after 30 days back in country. You might get a chance to visit historic sites like Babylon or the Ur dig. If so, I recommend it. We spent an afternoon at Ur and it was phenomenal. I went so far as to buy books on Sumerian culture. :P

A: No. Class A only
B: You may make 80K, but the 330 days is correct C: If you complete boringtation, they give you a 500 dollar advance D: Correct. NOTHING leaves the gate without some kind of escort. E: Correct. The new stuff is lightweight and better quality. F: Correct. If hired, get the volvo. Better a/c. G: New policy. Up to 16 days every after 120 days on duty, with a 2 week grace period either way. You pay for the airline ticket in full one month before leaving, then you are reiumbused for 860 dollars. Most flights to the states right now run around 2k. H: Visit anywhere you can over here. Believe it or not this country is full of religious and historical sites. The famed Garden of Eden is said to be in Basra. Good job warhorse.

Class A is for most of the truck driving jobs here. I have seen straight trucks running around on the camps, and their classification is called "City Services." They drive the garbage, dump, 5k and 3k tanker trucks. This is all subject to change at any moment, like everything else here. I have seen some airline tickets over 2800 dollars to the states. Its ridiculous.
