I told my boss/owner i needed to take a 1/2 day 2morrow. He asked me why and i told him the turth. I thought he was going to cry. He was upset. But he wished me the best of luck and made sure i would have off to go.

Well i just got back from my job interview. I think everything went good. It is between me and another guy.
The only thing i dont like is night work M-F 5pm intill 2am. Or when ever we get done. Around 50-55hrs a week. On the plus side you get .60cents more an hour for working nights. So my hourly rate will be around 21/hr. Ot after 8hrs. On over time i will be over 30bucks an hr. most money i have ever made. I forgot to ask how much union dues are. But overall it is a real good job. He told me it will be around 3-5 years before i could get day work. So now i will just wait for his phone call.

Sounds good, but the only things I would be worried is
1. If you stay at the place a number of years, it might be harder to ever get a real driving job again if you want to. 2. As you said before, it'd probably be mind numbing as hell. I know when I run to Quakertown, PA for 2 weeks straight, its about the most boring thing in the world besides watching grass grow. I never thought I'd say to myself "I cant wait to run the local stuff", but I do. However if you do get the job, this can be your new avatar!
