Anyone on the waiting list at Maverick? How long is the usual wait for the call?

Thanks,

Your place on the list depends on several factors. One of which is what state you're from. If they are heavy on drivers from your particular state it can be as long as 3-4 months.

Thanks for the reply...
I'm from Texas and was told earlier today that it could be mid-Feb to March. Just anxious to get started, that's all....

Just an observation, but TMC has NO WAITING LIST. Similar company. Beautiful equipment and equal to better pay. Just my 2 cents.

Remind them that if you wanted a job in Feb. you would have applied in Feb.

Too bad in our experience they have snotty recruiters, who won't even attempt to tell you what you needed to do to get in, or why your app got denied....Each to their own, we had a much better personal response from Maverick, even though they too denied him for now.
I also don't see the point in putting this here, unless just to stir up things. They're both good companies, why try to make one look better just because their trucks glow a little more...
I do appreciate what you do here Fred, but I think you're taking it overboard here.

Funny I didn't recall asking for an opinion. (kidding)
Why put this HERE? Last I checked this was an OPEN forum and as such I was just throwing another option on the table for those drivers who can't afford to wait MONTHS for a new job. I figured what better place to post a "no-wait" solution than the very SAME place where people were complaining about waiting. I see it more of attempting to solve a problem rather than create one as you alluded to.
BOTH are good companies and I said so in my post when I stated both were "similar companies". True TMC does not contact rejected applicants (several HUNDRED per day), but those that do qualify get called promptly and are treated well in MOST cases. Personally, I talk to EVERYONE. No matter if they are declined or approved but that's ME.
People complain about long hold times on the recruiting line for TMC now, can you imaginge how long it would take to get through if the recruiters were also calling back 500 rejected applicants daily and holding their hands while they tried to break it to them gently why they were declined? I'm not saying it's a good way of doing business but unfortunately it MAY be a necessary evil. The resources simply don't exist to handle the volume of bad apps they receive, most of which are simply "fishing expeditions" by hopeful drivers who sent their apps in to a dozen companies hoping for a "bite" and probably wouldn't have come to TMC even if they WERE approved. To have someone like YOU who is bright, caring about your hubby and quite thorough in your quest for knowledge and whom I THOUGH I was helpful to question my intents here is a bit discouraging to say the least. PLEASE don't get bitter and jaded like some of the posters on these type sites by bashing me and my efforts simply because hubby was turned down by TMC.

Fair enough, my apologies for jumping on that one....moving on

The catch that bothered me is not that they chose not to contact US. We contacted them, both he and I, several times over, and not a single person was willing to even form another option, or tell us what would change things. I'm not trying to be jaded, but our personal experiences do form our opinions. I'm definitely not trying to question your intents, I have no doubt that they are clean as a whistle. It just struck me in the moment as somewhat pushy.
I understand they can't take the time, manpower, etc to call every applicant back. I don't have a problem with that, and we had to call Maverick back as well. The difference lies in what happend past that point, and really has nothing to do with YOU as a person. Even though we were turned down by both companies, Maverick explained why, tried to clear everything they could, and gave us a timeframe to re-apply, none of which was offered at TMC. For us, that will make the difference of who is applied to in the future, waiting list, or no waiting list.
Once again, my apoligies for coming off too harsh, as that wasn't my intent. I really should learn to not post tired! You were extremely helpful to us, and your page has been extremely helpful overall for a glimpse into flatbedding as a section, not just TMC.
At this I will shhhhh.
