Default New CDL Holder

Went to school and practiced the dock 3-4 times and did parallel park on both sides. Wasn't super confident on the dock, parallel I wasn't worried about. Drove to MVA. Whipped out the pre-trip. I don't think I missed anything (I never checked).

And got to the range exercises. Sweated my way through the dock. Boy it looks smaller than the one at school, but I know it isn't. Got through with it, and examiner didn't tell me that I failed, so I knew I was in on the range. I took a few pull-ups that I was 99% sure were unneccessary, but I wasn't going to take a chance. Like my instructors said, and I kept reminding myself, "you don't get a gold star on your license for doing perfect on the test."

Got out on the road... And into holiday traffic. All the government employees in this county must have taken the day off to go to the local mall. My road test was about twice as long as typical. Many times I had to wait for a cycle or two of the light to be able to make turns (either couldn't go wide enough to avoid a curb or didn't have enough room to get vehicle out of intersection due to backed up traffic). Ground a few gears, made some minor mistakes, but nothing major.

Ninety minute wait to get picture taken, double-check that my 'M' endorsement is still on there, and there we go.

Got back to school and got all my completion stuff, along with a letter from the director and the head instructor saying that I got the highest grade in class. (Won't let it go to my head. I know enough to know that I don't know $#!+ )

I had one instructor say "if you get the DOT bumper in the back of the alley gate, I have less respect for you than if you didn't. See, if you get it in the back, you were taking stupid chances and/or had no idea at all where you were."

One thing I should mention is that three of my four instructors are my co-workers as well. All work in the same department in the college.
