New Grads - Private schools - Good Companies
I have the cash to pay the 3,000 for private cdl school here in my hometown.
What are the good companies that I can get a job with other than the usual ones that do their own cdl trainning, and requiring a contracts? If I get my own schooling, I don't have to work for Schnieder, jb Hunt ,Swift, ect.... so what decent companies are left to hire newbies fresh out of school other than the above????

Questions?
Thats a good question, but it seems that they are still the best shots we have with a CDL and no OTR experience. Consider it cutting your teeth. Just my opionon thats all. I am not going to pay for school and then still sign an agreement or contract. Tuition repay is also a joke. Dont pay twice for your training is the message I am getting unless its a very low amount. Like 1500 or less, but youre still going to end up in with one of those type companies.

try searching the job search function on the web site. there are several that will hire school grads. you might want to spend some time emailing or calling them to make sure the school you go to is excepted by the companys.
I went through Schneider training. The training was good and very in depth both in the book work and hands on. However the contract sucks. It wasnt easy either. Over half my class washed out. No idea why but they did. Especially at the end of week 1. Keep in mind I have no idea what other schools offer since I have only attended Schneider. Good luck.

your best bet is to find a smaller sized comp. that will hire traines!! they are out there that is how i got started. i would never go to work for the big guys all they want to do is use u. i have worked for this comp. for several years now and since i have started my checks have never been below 700 for the week and have never had to set for more than 5 hours waiting on a load and i am off every weekend and home once during the week for 13 hours. and its been like that from training to now just dont give the big guys the time of day there not worth it!!!!!!

You may still have to work for a McMegaCarrier like Pumpkin, Swift or JB for 3-9 months, but if they suck you can take your marbles and go home at no cost, unlike the indentured servants who are stuck for a year.
The $3-6k they charge for their in house puppy mill training is actually a profit center. Between what they charge 9 of 10 trainees who don't last a year and the tax credits the training side is actually a profit center.

Just my two cents here.
Attend a PTDI approved school and then give Crete a serious look. http://www.ptdi.org/
