Default okla. & texas

why cant more states be truck friendly like okla. and texas. they dont have coops at every entry and exit of the states and are not open 24 seven like most states. they have good speed limits 70 to 75 mph on all major roads and interstates im just glad i live in this regn. of the country and get 2800 plus miles a week with out having the dot man breathing down my neck every time i turn around. just to big of a money maker for other states to pass up i guess

Well, I am not real sure. I just know that you're right. Texas, nor Oklahoma have coops at their state lines. Or,...river. :P They do have the exits, and spots for coops, but more or less, just pickle parks.

I reckon, their way of thinking, is that if something is wrong, they will find out sooner, or later. :P

Texas has no State income tax...and is wealthy enough to not need to screw every nickel possible out of people.

I run out of Houston- mosty Texas and Louisiana although I just got back from a 4-stop military haz-waste pickup tour of Tennesse and Arkansas. I passed through Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee and Arkansas before coming back into Texas.

Texas-
I-10EB coop in Winnie closed.

Louisiana-
I-10EB in Vinton coop open. Roll through.
I-10EB in Lafayette coop open. W-I-M bypass.
I-10EB in Hammond open. "Report Inside" registration check.
I-55NB JointPort MS/LA coop open. "Report Inside" registration check.

Mississippi-
I-55NB Osyka- closed
I-55NB Nesbit (south Memphis) open. Roll through.

Arkansas-
I-55NB West Memphis- open. Roll through.
I-40EB West Memphis- open. Roll through.
I-40WB West Memphis- open. Report inside for haz-mat paperwork.
I-30WB Malvern- closed.
I-30WB Hope- open. roll through.

Texas-
US59SB Tenaha- closed.

Arkansas sucks. Louisiana swallows. Texas is no big deal.

Heh - I've been having great luck with scales this past week.

I left out of northern WV last Friday with a load going to El Paso, TX. From there I took a load to Dallas, TX, went to Abilene for a load heading for Atlanta. I'll be in Atlanta this morning and am sitting in Tuscaloosa, AL. Since last Friday when I left I have 3,516 miles on the trip meter. I have came across 2 open scales and both of those were yesterday. I got the "Ok to bypass" in Louisianna and had to get weighed in Alabama.

No, I don't have a PrePass (I miss that sucker). The scalehouses were simply closed.

I live in Texas and have been truckin here for 19 years Texas has never
had permanently opened scales anywhere, they just open for those special occasions  The ones down in south Texas are open year
round I think but don't weigh only check for illegals and drugs. Although
Texas congress has just passed some kind of highway bill that might just
change this in the future

Remenber Tx. is big on portrables and roadsides. They like to hide and wait in the bushes.
