paid miles
Hello, we have been tracking our mileage for the last 10,000 miles and from what our hub miles are, versious what our company is paying ... it has been real consistant ... we are paid 10% less then we run ... is this your experience? this seems quite high to us but we don't know

10% is a fairly good number in my experience. Companies paying practical miles should have you within the 7% range. Start adding miles for wrong turns, getting lost, getting off the route to go home, get fuel, food, laundry, taking loops around major city centers instead of driving through them, etc...it adds up faster than you think.
Many of the companies paying HHG or short miles such as Swift for example, first hand experience here, will come close to doubling those short miles. One way to avoid such concerns is to work for a company that pays hub miles. They are few and far between, but they can be found. I had the pleasure of driving a dedicated route for just such a company before they lost their contract because they were low-balled by a company that payed HHG miles. I wonder why hub mile jobs are so hard to come by? :| |
