Call any CPA, or H n R block. They all told me it is 75% of 52.00. Because I was wondering myself. Unless they just changed it, that is what it was.

If it is not on your W-2 that you get from your employer the irs says that you don't pay any taxes on the 52.00 got it reconfirmed by them this morning when i called them to make sure i got the same answer

Actually, just an interesting sidenote to this conversation. When I worked a year as a tax preparer the IRS was VERY frequently wrong if you asked on the phone. They hire flunkies, put them in call centers, and give them scripts by which to answer questions. You are NOT reaching qualified people by any means. Last time I looked the actual statistics on it were that the IRS on the phone is wrong something like 30-40% of the time....

We know a family friend who worked at the IRS call center in Austin. Very abbreviated training. If you definitive answers I would call a CPA.

Exactly. I'd call a CPA for ANY question before I ever called the IRS, especially during tax season.
