power inverter

Many companies won't allow inverters because they can be hard on the batteries.
I used the microwave in the truck stops. Gotta go in to pee anyway

You could just replace the fuse with a 10 gauge wire...That should solve the problem..

I've ran nothing but reefer. Every truck I have had has a positive and negitive stud behind the sleeper to junp the reefer off if the batt. or alt. goes out. DO NOT REPLACE YOUR FUSES WITH BIGGER FUSES OR 10 GUAGE WIRE You WILL burn your truck down!!!!!!

While they require only about 50-100 watts to run, the compressor startup draws a lot more power than a 400 watt inverter can handle.

If I absolutely couldn't hook up an inverter directly to the batteries, then I would measure the distance from where the inverter will be used to the positive stud on the battery box (Internationals) or under the hood (KW's) then double the distance, consult with an expert as to the proper gage of cable to be used and hook it up when needed, and disconnect when done. NEVER UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES USE A LARGE INVERTER WITHOUT HAVING THE TRUCK RUNNING AT A HIGH IDLE.....YOU WILL EAT THE BATTERIES QUICKLY AND HAVE TO GET A JUMP START!!
