Work doesn't scare me,what scares me is 1000 miles away from home waiting on a load for 2 or 3 days now that worries me do y'all run into that a lot?

That will depend upon who you run for. If you run for one of the mega-carriers, you could find yourself experiencing that.
The company that I drove for?? Usually, I had a pre-load from dispatch within 30 mins. of arriving at a destination for delivery. The longest I ever waited was about 10 hours. The one exception?? When I was re-setting my hours!!

Most of the time that long of a wait will be a non issue. During holidays, you are more likely to have to sit for a day, depending on where you run. There are some areas which seem to keep busy most all the time. Other areas, you may wait a day or two. The time of year is a big factor in whether or now you have a wait. |
