You know, when I first saw the title of this post "Question about stick shift experience" and the saw you posting on the thread, I assumed that it was another jock itch related thread!

Post the schools website link, or give us their class schedule showing what they offer.

The company that told you your better off not knowing anything about shifting gears is correct. If you already drive a stick it takes some time to break what your used to doing, a truck takes a different approach to shifting than a car does. You will pick it up correctly if your fresh, faster.

This is correct. I went to Roehl truck school with absolutely no experience of any kind with a shift. I was sent out with an experienced driver and within an hour I was shifting like a pro. Never had any problems learning to shift. So, no experience with shifting is definitely a plus. No bad habits, nothing to 're-learn'.

Thanks!... I think I'm just mostly misunderstood. Back in the old days of CAD... I use to teach new drivers how to master any transmission, with a tutorial on my profile page. People quickly learned and felt complete confidence, within just 30 short minutes... and it was free! A couple of the administrators here, took some of my classes, and decided I was just teaching fetishes.... so they put the kibosh on that.
