Default Quick Question

I see a lot of companys claiming 98% no touch freight.
Exactly what does this mean?

This means that 98% of the time you as the driver will not have to load/unload the freight in your trailer. The other 2% of the time you will have to load/unload the trailer plus drive the truck. Most companies will pay you $50-$150 extra for loading/unloading "lumping".

98 out of 100 loads are drop and hook or live loads/unloads and you wait for them to load you.

Unfortunately sometimes you will have to unload or help unload your trailer. Sometimes you get a pallet jack sometimes you don't. Sometimes you have to "tailgate" the freight, you just push everything to the rear of the trailer and they unload from that point.

98% no touch means that 98 out of 100 loads the company hauls does not require a driver to touch the freight. I does not mean that 98 out of 100 load you haul for the company requires no work on your part to unload.

It also does not have anything to do with how much drop and hook a company does vs live load/unload.

Live load/unload means that the trailer will be loaded/unloaded while you or someone else waits for the job to be completed.
